It's more than 1 year old and have no complaints.

pros:
- keeps tranny fluid temp cooler on highways
- prolongs the tranny life

cons:
- If the vents are open, you can feel the warm air blowing off the cooler into the car. (you didn't think the cooling came without a price, did ya )
- (suspected, unproven) slight lag in fluid pressure build because of the added cooler and lines to the fluid path.
tell me about the mobil 1 synthetic ATF cuz im interested for it, on how many miles did you change your fluid?

Changed it to Mobil ATF around 14k, after seeing all the tranny posts. It was worth the money in my opinion. I did a flush using the 2 bottles and clear hose technique.

If you can search, I had a write up waaaay back, complete with gasket part # from Dave B. I bought 12 bottles, but used 10+.

you should put a little bit more fluid in there if it takes longer to build pressure

Dude, you better knock on wood, I started having shifting issues about month after I posted how smooth my tranny was.

My Max is sitting at Nissan right now being diagnosed.

I’m totally bummed out about this whole tranny situation.

Maybe Nissan should add ( Shift _ slip ) to there logo…….

my 2k2 max had not even 30,000 miles and 2 times my tranny went bad and i had the max for oly 6 months, i have 2k3 maxima for 15 months and 40,200 miles and still going, im planing to put tranny cooler, VB stage 2 and maybe Mobil 1 ATF synthetic for more performance and my tranny will be stronger!!

I’ll be very honest; if I could I would swap mine for a 6 speed in a heartbeat. I may even be in the market for one, depending on how the repair goes…

I went with an auto so that my wife could drive it too, but am now thinking it was the wrong move… If I do keep it, I’m defiantly adding a tranny cooler!

Since the 4th of April 04 I have made 14 visits to the track and 131 passes on my 2k2 auto trans.

Only mods are B&M cooler, Mobil 1 and drop resistor mod. Car has 45k on it.

Still running strong and I even got my fastest N/A time of the year on Sunday a 13.53 and a 1.98 60' which is my first sub 2.0 N/A.

About half of those runs were with nitrous running in the low 12 region and 1.7-1.8 60's so it hasn't been babied.

Maybe its just the luck of the draw.

I’m very jealous right now… I haven’t even romped on mine much and the previous owner was an older lady!

In fact I was only able to put 5k on it in my two months of ownership..

Wanna trade???

Do you use the metal tube on the far right with the kit...or just clamp tubes?
