If you are even a little bit mechanically inclined, do this MOD yourself. It is extremely easy and should take you no more than 45 min. All you need is a rachet set. Watch out for the couplings, for you will need some elbow crease to get them on. I used a little oil on it to get it in place. doing things yourself wil gie you alot more satisfaction than paying someone to do it. Good luck with it.

Might as well clean your TB and change your PCV valve while you've got the stock stuff off and you've got an easy angle.....the install is pretty easy, and i agree with the coupler comment, they can be a pain...
I just installed mine this weekend. I'd say getting the fittings on the intake manifold and MAF housing were the worst part. They just dont want to go on...but thats normal. I nearly had a heart attack when I drove the thing the first time though...holy crap 4k + is just killer! Also, is it normal to have a whistling sound at lower RPMs?

Word of advice....Ive done many installs on intakes.....have some vaseline handy for the couplers, or heat them up to make them more expandable......It takes some work, but you know they will be tight, which is how you want them to be......If you think its loud now, thry slapping on a JWT filter on the end !...

And I agree with Kloogy, the microwave and vaseline are your best allies in getting the couplers to go on....just try not to let any of the neighbors see you, they might wonder....
I just installed mine today and I am enjoying it. It is alot louder then the stock setup. The first time I noticed it was when I went up a hill and the Maxima downshifted. Getting onto the highway was great too. I got the one with the Apexi filter and was wondering how I should clean it when it's time? Thanks for the feedback.

ok thanx alot guys. whats a JWT Filter? i have the Apexi. is JWT better?
I used some petroleum jelly whenI had installed my berk intake, and I wish I hadn't. at first, was thinking it would be a painin the ayass to install, but with the petroleum jelly, all the couplers just slid right on. not only that, but it also made for a big mess. I should have tried to install it dry first.

So how much for a replacement apexi filter or just the k& filter by itself?

Pearlmax...
all the filter are almost the same...
JWT is the same as stillen which is the same as K&n
no big difference
and the only difference b/w k&n and apexi is that
K&n is wet ( requires oiling) and apexi is dry.. not oiling and "virtually" maintenace free
any of the above filters are grate filters... and they all give you the same results in general...

The Berk and the Frankencar are pretty much the same. Berk might be a little better quality and the Berk customer service is much better. Frankencar CS is virtually nonexistant. If I had known about Berk, I would have gone with Berk, but I am happy with my Frankencar.
I would think the apexi would be quieter than the jwt just because it has a smaller filtering area. Anyone know if the apexi or jwt filter performs better than the injen filter? I plan on getting a different filter for my injen soon so thats why im asking. thanks
