2K Maxima, ignition coil problem?

Hey guys, Newbie here. I tried to search for the ignition coil problem but had no luck. It seems I have something chronic going on with my #4 coil. I replaced it about 2 months ago, cleared the error code to get the check engine light to go off, then last week had the light come back on with the same symtoms. Does anyone know how to go about resolving this issue? I have found the TSB #01-059, and the DTC is error code P1320 spark knock. I stoked I found this website!! I talked to ADMAN and he said that Jeff or Toylet or even BigDogJohnX might be able to help, maybe even Kev the Moderator.

Im not able to log on to this site very often during the day, but I can check my email. If anyone could email me I would appreciate it. apeterson@willdan.com

It may not be just #4 it could be an opposing cylinder and the PCM is just identifying #4 as the culprit. If you have the old coil, try swapping out #1 and test for a while etc. Of course you have to make sure the part numbers on the coils match (another brilliant move by Nissan engineers).

When I had that problem it said #4 and it was actually #2. So, I just swapped the front bank coils out one at a time and there it was.

I would just replace all the coils since the 2000 coils are defective. I just did this with my 2000 I30. Had the code P1320 and replaced all 6. Car runs better now than when new. Pinging is gone. MPG increased by 2. You can get the coils online for ~$300.00 shipped. You need 3 "right" and 3 "left". Can go to www.nissan-parts-dealer.com or can call David B. 888-254-6060.

Well, I ran it on a scanner today at AutoZone and got the P1320 ign. system misfire again, but this time I got a P0302 code, with says its the #2 cylinder misfire. So I ordered a #2 coil from Nissan-Auto-Parts-Dealer.com for $56.00 including shipping. Not bad, glad it says its the even side again. I will try and swap it around till I find which one it is.

Although I have nothing to add, I have to comment that I love it that you've named yourself after a Sir-Mix-Alot song.....classic!
