you're kidding, right? You should take him.

But just race him and find out. What's the worst that can happen, you lose?

in before the lock....the org doesn't encourage posting about street racing, by the way....so this thread will get locked fast.

Not a good post to make a first impression!

If he's stock you should win, but if he's chipped then your screwed. Either way it'll be a good race.

psi = pounds per square inch

Well as I said , I dont understand nothing about turbo.. but he got the stock turbo and he intall that blow off valve. his car is fast but I believe in my Max..227 Hp max against a 150 hp Jetta 1.8 T? I know turbo makes the diference but I will race him ... We never know until you get on the black top...

the 1.8T turbo is the equvalent of someone sneezing into the engine..the turbo is very small and i highly doubt that he can run 20psi of boost and not blow his turbo and/or engine...you should be able to beat him..but i suggest you take it to the track..that way when you do..you have a slip you can bug him with afterwards =)

Don't race him. You're gonna lose big. A chipped 1.8T by APR makes them run the 1/4 mile at 14.19 at 99.79. A turbo at 20 psi is probably a stage 3 APR turbo kit meaning a lot more trouble. Trust me those 1.8Ts are quick. My cousin's 2001 1.8T is chipped and screams like a beast.

No he has no stage 3 turbo..

I dont see how he can have 20 lbs of boost with stock internal ??? If he really got 20 lbs of boost he's going to spank you unless he's a very bad driver, but even though I would race him and see the result.

Good luck

It's possible to have 20 PSI boost for stock turbo. My firend has GTI 1.8T and he has very close to 20 PSI boost. Anyways, you will win but if he's chipped like APR tuning, your screwed. I seen stock 2002 GTI 1.8t only mods are APR CHIP. AND he ran 14.3's.

race him just to see his engine blow up ~

20 psi is a hellova lot of boost for a stock turbo with stock internals. There's no way you could get 20psi with a stock turbo and even if you could, it would blow the stock engine within minutes or even seconds. You prolly wouldn't be able to use pump gas either.
