Check Engine Light.......

am I right in assuming that the engine light will always be on in my car with a frankencar intake unless I had the ECU reprogrammed?

Yup !

They are the best at ECU stuff......maybe if we check on Ebay, the electric supercharger might solve this problem....

I hear they got these $5 performance chip on eBay as well, we could get a group deal on that and the Electric Superchargers. Them coupled together will make killer HP. Forget these turbos, this is the way to go.

no.,...
I had my FC intake on for 6 months with no SES lights.....it came on this weekend, but I switched out the MAF (I think mine was going bad) and got the light turned off and it hasn't come back on.

So, the answer would be "no"

Oh, and I have never reset the ECU. I just put the FC on and drove - no problems.
