I've noticed lately that Canadian AEs don't have the body kit or the I30 muffler? Anyone know why? Also, do they claim the 5hp increase for the Canadian AE?

 

i live in toronto canada and i dont have the kit
i know that they dont come with the kit, but i didnt know about the muffler
cuz our maxima's are said to be 227 hp too
what is the difference between the two mufflers????
any pics????

I got a 2001 SE AE 5 Speed with 227 HP but without the body kit, making it lighter than the US version. I don't know where you got the idea that it doesn't have the Infinity muffler. Go back to your Dealer and check the specs from Nissan Canada.

 

That's odd, I thought the I30 muffler was why they claimed the increase... something fishy's going on here.

The muffler is on the AE giving it 5 more HP. How do you know the muffler is not the same as in the I30?

The Canadian AE comes loaded. The only option is the Auto Trans. It does not come with a body kit. It does claim the 227HP and, from the brochure, attributes the extra 5hp to "a performance exhaust system".

Is this Majestic Blue .......Pearl?? If so, is their a limited number in Canada as their are in the States?? Im told around 300 total and paint came from Infiniti I-30 as it is not a factory color. Have you seen the body kit?? Awesome baby !!! Thats why I bought one for my wife ....

I'm note sure. It's not refered to as Pearl, just a unique colour for the AE. As to the limited numbers, I doubt it. I saw 4 of them when I picked up mine (mine was the only 5sp ) and it's a pretty small dealership..

 

The 5 hp is not from the muffler. It's somewhere else in the exhaust... if it even exhists and isn't just marketing. I remember someone checked the part numbers and all the maxes have the same muffler.
