Yeah, removing the cover and knee area cover is pretty self explanitory.
However, a good WARNING/tip to include would be to disconnect the battery and wait 10-mins., since you're working VERY closely with the airbag wires.

You don't need to remove the lower part. you can ground the wire by squishing it with any of the default plastic parts, as long as the bare wire makes solid contact with the metal part of the column. Just loosen a screw slightly, pull away a plastic clip or whatever, tuck the wire under it and tighten the screw back.
That's what i did since i couldn't find a decent grounding point on the 2k without removing all the plastic stuff off.
On another note, why is it illegal to have the fogs on with the high beam?
