Best paper ail filter?
What's wrong with K&N. You like changing your filter all the time? You don't want the better gas mileage & hp that comes with the K&N? Too expensive? Trust me, its worth it in the long run. I had a K&N stock replacement in my last two cars and never had any problems.

Well, I'm just not a k&n fan. i mean if your letting more air in then your letting more dirt in right?
Also, even if i do gain 1-2 horsepower, are you really going to feel it? Then I might gain a tad more mpg, big deal. I mean 10-15 bucks for a paper filter that filters better i think is worth it.
If i was racing I might consider a k&n but for normal street use nah,
jus my 2 cents, flame on.

Nothing to flame... I'm just offering my insight from past experience. Since the filters are oiled they actually trap more dirt than standard filters. You will gain more than 1-2 hp... not enough to go drag racing but you should notice a better throttle response. I think I gained like 4 mpg with the drop-in, which on an 18.5 tank is another 74 miles... nothing to scoff at with gas prices these days.

yep. K&N still let in more dirt due to the wet/oil filter type. There was an experiment where they simulated various fiter types, on the end of a vacuum cleaner and they put in a sheet of clean white material downstream, to see how much dirt the filter didnt trap. K&N was one of the better performers, however it still let in a good amount of dirt.

To answer your question the Nissan OEM filter is the best paper filter available.
