Fuel Filter Nissan Part Number - Please

I am going to be replacing my fuel pump and strainer, and would like to replace the fuel filter also. The local Nissan dealership said that the filter didn't have to be changed, but the previous owners of my car went to Mexico Alot, and used alot of dirty Mexican Gas.

Can anyone tell me what the Part Number for the filter is?????

Thanks

I got this part number from a website, can anyone confirm that this is the right filter for a 2000 Maxima. Part Number = 16400-2Y922.

Are you saying the dealership won't sell you a fuel filter?

When I went to ask for it at the service department, they said that the car only has 105k miles, and that it didn't have to be replaced. So I want to walk into the parts department and just buy it without asking anyone anything.

At 105K miles your fuel filter should be SCREAMING for replacement. At 50K it should be begging. Their maintenance schedule doesn't list it, or at least hasn't until now, but I think recently they've added the fuel filter as a maintenance item.

Anyway, I wish I had my faxed fuel system parts diagram that DAVEB Faxed to me... but I don't. Find DAVEB's phone # in the Parts List stickie and give him a call; he can hook you up.

That part # is correct. Anyone have the How-To link that Spirrillis posted on changing the filter?

I found the write-up for changing the filter, and I did it last night. I also changed the plugs to NGK lazer platinums. The car feels worse now. I have NO power, and the car won't rev over 4000 rpm's. I am going to change the fuel pump today and order a new MAF. Let me know what else can get my car back to normal. thanks

Yeah, I'd like to see that How-to again. I've had my fuel filter sitting around the house and now I have time to change it.
It's not that hard is it? I remember someone saying that you have to be careful not to break a fragile part.

I took about 1 hour to take it out and replace the fuel filter and replace it. Then my gas guage wasn't working so I took it out again, and checked the float and sending unit. That took about 15 minutes, and then the guage worked again. The how-to write up helped alot. Without it, I would have been alittle lost. Thanks guys.

I didn't read that whole thread on the filter change. Where exactly is that entrance to the filter/pump housing located?
