Center vents? Wedonneednostinkincentervents!

I don't really care personally.. I rarely use my AC, and like I said, I have side vents anyways.

The way I have it set up, I think more air blows out the side vents (it has to go somewhere) - at least it feels like that. Also, a little air comes through around the LCD edges. You can actually feel it when the fan is on high. It helps keep the LCD cool, too.

This piece with the disk drive slot is sweet. Very cool setup. Somebody could make a killing on mass-producing these if they're not already.

I suppose you are running your car puter headunit less..

What are you using to power the m10000 ?? the opus?

I love the setup, but i don't think i can lose my vents..

What screen is that? Liliput?

ITPS 12v Regulator/Shutdown Controller

Starvision 7VGAT - http://www.starvision.us/

It's not quite as bright as the Lilli, but it's still good. It also had the headrest shroud, which as you can see, I needed. I wanted to be able to remove the LCD if need be. Xenarc *JUST* came out with a headrest shroud. Had I not already bought the Starvision, I DEFINITELY would have gotten that. It's a little brighter and Xenarc (uses Gain screens) has a better reputation. Check out http://www.mp3car.com/ for more details on these screens and other screens.

Well, possibly, without the DVD player, as that is an IDE DVD player from an IMAC (it's slot-load and they're hard to find). Maybe with a standard DVD player, that doesn't rely on a CarPuter to run..

How much would you pay?

BTW, I need to take a "behind the scenes" pic still. It shows the mounting brackets. It looks ghetto, but it's VERY solid and sturdy - which is important in the shaky, bouncy automobile environment.

Damn as mine breaks, people get theirs working.

That has to be the most ingenous way to put it in a maxima yet.

EDIT: disregard, I just saw the rest of the photos. That are some incredible fiberglass skills you got.

Yes, the center vents are gone now. A little air gets through, but not much. That is what side vents are for -- or windows.

GPS, MP3, DVD, MPEGS, NES Emulator, Wireless Internet, Radio, TV, and it's just plain cool! Most of these devices hook up using USB and are very easy to add on.

WTF!! How did that happen? Did the changer go or the whole unit? I doubt it's still under warranty seeing as how it's in a different car and was removed/reinstalled... Sorry to hear man..

A guy here at work was showing me pics of a nice car-puter install on a Passat. It was sweet, but yours with the slot loading DVD drive above the LCD panel is bad a$$. Very nice

Well, with this one you need a laptop or carputer to power it. It's an IDE DVD player. You could do the same thing using a stand-alone DVD player and THEN you would not need the laptop or carputer.

Exactly! And another $40, and I have Radio. Another $50, I have XM Satellite. Another $30, I have TV... The list goes on...

i am bringin up a OLD thread sorry, but i can't see the pics... i wanna see the hotness! i was thinkin about doin this since the screen in my laptop is going, so hooking it up to an external screen in the car would be sick. ok, so the touchscreen makes up for no mouse, but what about a keyboard? that's kinda crappy, but i don't know where you could put it...

put the keyboard under your seat or between your seats? it really isnt a big deal aslong as its wireless.

you can get small portable wireless keyboards.

Why do you need a keyboard in the first place? Except, of course, setting up everything at first(which I do at home anyway), there's no big need for the keyboard. And if you REALLY need one, you can use on-screen keyboards from Start>>All Programs>>Accessories>>Accessibility
