Write up on STS install?
I just got my B&M Short Shifter today from Southwest Autoworks. Thanks for the super fast shipping guys!
Does anyone have the write up for the install?
I checked the How To Sticky, but I didn't see it in there.
Thanks

1. remove shift console. this is done by gently pulling up from the rear of the plastic, and removing a screw ffrom the ashtray.
2. jack vehicle up
3. remove heat shield and slide shield away. this doesn't have to be completely off, just moved for access
4. loosen cat, then try to separate cat(it won't separate, but this will give you clearance for an allen wrench/allen socket)
5. remove factory shifter.
6. install new shifter. be sure to tighten up the base of the shifter so that when you shift, there is no slack at the base. it should be tight physically and visually
6a. when installing new shifter, do not put the snap ring for the base in yet. you will have to feed the shifter from underneath the car, and then install the snap ring(it looks like a key ring) so the stick doesn't slide off of the base
installation is reverse
tips-
get a set of large, and I mean LARGE snap ring pliers. you will need these to install the snap ring onto the base to secure the two pieces together. I used a wincy little one and it about nearly kicked my a$$.
-it is always nice to have someone work with you. you under and him/her in the car to see what you are doing/get feedback
any other questions, let me know. this should take about two hours, given you have ALL of the tools. this took me longer than it should have since I had to buy a set of snap ring pliers, only to find out I needed a LARGE pair of snap ring pliers. this will save you a headache

I would say the opening of the jaws on the pliers would be 4-5 inches max. the regular size is about 2-3 inches max. bring in your snap ring to a local auto parts store and see if they can help you out. dont struggle like I did
