raced a pontiac firebird

i pulled up to this kid with a white firebird, but i think it was a v6, cuz v8 ones have like 300 horses, but any ways theres this kid with the firebird, and it sounds all deep, you know amreican cars, hes got this flowmasters.. typical american cars, i was kind of intimidated, but i wanted a good challenge, to test out my maxima, so i gave him a hard stare and waited for the light to turn green, he knew i wanted to race. so the light turns green, and my tires start screeching, for like 2 seconds. he takes a good start, but i start pulling away around 40, then 50, 60, 70, 80, by the time i hit 100, he was WAAAAAAY back there, i thought he slowed down or something, or gave up, but i just realized how slow american cars are after 60mph, thats just pathetic, i thought my max was slow, but damn. those birds have about the same amount of power and torque, but dont have enough high end power, the RPMs only go up to 5500. no wonder why there so slow...but theyre quick at the start though, i thought i was gonna lose!!!!

Yeah, thats all it is...a good story. This was not a V-8 Trans Am or Formula because if it was, there is NO way he would fall WAAAAAAAY back as you mention. If it was a V-8 car, he probably just laughed at you and decided not to waste his gas.

well i will say one thing from someoen that used to be all about muscle cars a few years back i will say that imports had no chance against muscle cars but now i have to say is one of the reasons i bought a max is cuase lol sad to say but these little 4 and 6 cyclinders have alot of ***** and camaros and TA's are running what 13.6 in the 1/4 yeha prolly a hole sec faster then our max but, what it all comes down too is now that TA-Camaro was made for the track while on the street that 13.6 or less dont mean s h i t and i can say that from experiance while having a car that ran a 12.8 i couldnt take turns at 90 or 100 like i can take a turn with my max now at 120 with ease.

Are you some sort of stunt driver? Please, give me a break.

Maybe if you were in a porsche, and maybe if you were like mario andretti.

I read these threads and always *sigh*. Why do we Max owners act like the Civic owners? We're supposed to be above that.

Btw, a V8 Firebird/Mustang/Camaro is not to be messed with. The V6's are sold for entry level prices and lower insurance. Their purpose is not like that of the V8's, hence they are never massaged engines. These V6's usually come from corporate sedans.

Go ahead and make yaself feel better cause you beat an old Firebird with a Buick Century engine.

Sigh.

If it was a 1995.5-2002 the V6 would be the 200hp 3800 series II. They run the 1/4 mile in about 15.9@80-somthing mph. If it was a 93-95 it would be a 3.4 Liter V6 which churns out 160hp and is pretty damn s l o w. The 3.4 would've not hung with you til 40. The 3800 series II might've had a chance with your wheel spin. The LT-1's (275hp/285hp 93-97) run like 14.5's and the LS1's (305hp 98-02)run like 13.7's@103+mph

Im not talking about a 90 degree turn like u are making it sound but the turns that u would have to slow down with a muscle car as i used to have to do now i can take doing that 120, so while im still doing 120 on a turn and that muscle car has to slow down to say maybe 100 105 110 i have just gained cars lenths on him and then theres more turns to come so... who u think wins??? it dont matter if u win by a inch or a mile winning is winning and i have said this before fast and furious came out.

I once raced a Z06 in my G20.... owned I don't care since I know that Z06s can run some mean times. I ran CBR600 on a highway in my G20 with 22psi- my dyno was done at 18psi. I walked the bike from 40MPH roll on. I got some footage at home of the car vs others.

Doesn't the z06 put down 400 horses or so? I think i could have played with you if he wanted to. I think they run 12's from the factory.

I think with minor mods the car would be even moreridiculous, hell have u seen the ligenfelter ls7?

they don't dyno 400WHP, I dyno more than a stock Z06 and my car weights alot less- 2790lbs. If U driven a EVO with a stock turbo, I feel that it lags compared to my HKS GT28RS.
