I have a 02 GLE and pretty much whenever you crank the car up you hear a sort of a rattle or clicking noise for a couple of seconds and then it goes away does anyone know what it is or have this problem

 

someone posted this before. they said and dealer confirmed that this is normal on cold start of the car. timing chain adjusts or something like that.

 

Yup, here's the TSB for it. Its the VTC sprockets. Good luck getting it to happen when a technician can hear it. Had mine in for service and he did not hear it becuase it only happens 50% of the time for me.
