CD-R and Bose

Can anybody tell me if playing CD-R in the Bose unit will damage it?
I have (I think that what it calls) B unit FM-AM RADIO WITH CASSETTE
PLAYER AND COMPACT DISC PLAYER with eject button in the left top corner. I know in manual on the page 4-14 says that "Do not use the following CDs as they may cause the CD player to malfunction:
- Recordable compact discs (CD-R)" so far I keep playing cd-r with no problem (accept sometimes I can hear ticking in high tones but I think this is digital noise that was created during conversion from mp3 etc.)

I've been playing CDR and CDRW since i've owned the car...Manual suggests what you should do to get optimum sound quality

When I owned previous car somebody breaks to my car and took my stereo and all CD (originals) and from that point I do not want originals in the car.

Thank you

Been using CD-Rs, too (for almost 2 years). Only problem I have is skipping, but I'm sure that's because they were real cheap CD-Rs. My originals never skip.

what they ment to say was do not use CD-R's with those label thingys on them otherwise the labels come off inside the CD player and jam it. I've been playing CDrs just fine until the unit broke today...bought this thing a month ago, you can be sure the guy who sold it to me is going to get an ear full tomorrow, friggin sleeze bag put a bra on it to cover up all the paints chips too.

Why didn't you take the bra off and look beneath it before you bought the car?

Mine skips a lot. I know the CD-Rs are recorded right because they play damn well on my PC, and even my 4 year old discman.

But in the car? *tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick*

Drives me nuts. My Verbatim vinyl covered CD-Rs work really well. But Memorex and TDK work like sh*t.

So far I've only used the cheapest buy-one-get-one-free Verbatims that come in spools of 50 and 100 (not the vinyl-covered ones) in my Maxima 6cd changer, and they play flawlessly (unless they're scratched).
