I'm sorry for being slow but what's all this Hyperground for? Beneficial? I'm not seeing myself doing this but I just want to inform myself.
Thanks

here's a couple of links to threads on the subject. I'm really bad at explaining it but will say its by far the best "cheap" mod i've done on the car, hands-down. I don't think it's a gimmick at all (as some people do), I think it works, for whatever reason...I don't care why it works, as long as it works

good use of an afternoon and $25......

one additional comment: if you are going to shrink wrap the wiring, I suggest you get a heat gun. It takes a long f-ing time to make the shrink wrap shrink tight with a hair dryer

everything I used for my hyperground were purchased at home depot.....they should all be in the same area of the store, obviously.....

make sure to check each package - the ring connectors, shrink wrap, etc....all have specific wire gauge (awg) that they fit, so get the right ones....

irish since you posted all the nice pics on the cardomain site, will you be nice enough to do a nice write-up? common man i have seen how your # of hits has increased. how about you just type-up:

take blah blah wire and put on blah blah connector, then connect it to blah blah area, and run it to blah terminal of the battery

the difficult part is describing where all the ground points are.....I mean, if I say "the second bolt on the left side of the intake manifold" do you know what I'm talking about?

Like i said, I plan to do a write-up eventually...if I get a chance, i will do it tonight, but that's if I don't get distracted by basketball and baseball

Here my car with ebay kit installed -1 wire that i plant to connect to the tranny this weekend. There is a wire going from pass side headlight to the intake manifold - I dont think its gonna stay there.
Comments?

looks good man...2 questions:
1. have you noticed the same improvements as i did?
2. where did you get that multi-terminal for your battery (the round thing?)

I like how the ebay one (2nd one) says it adds 5-8 hp....uh huh.....

anyone know where I can get JUST the multi-terminal thingy for the battery without buying the wires?

Btw, all those ebay kits are the same. It says on them nismo, mugen, shmugen...all written in the same font. I bet its the same person selling them under different ebay accounts. But, they do come with the battery terminal, the round terminal for the wires and a small terminal for the 2 wires on the engine block, some zip ties and a xeroxed instruction that doesnt really explain anything. I noticed some gains after i installed it, but recently i dont notice it anymore - either the ECU adjusted or i got used to it...

So will that $10 or the $25 grounding wire work? Seems pretty cheap.

Anyone know if it's better to ground all the points to the chasis or directly to the neg battery terminal?

from that link, I do like the busbar idea. basically you ground everything to this piece of metal, which is connected to the negative terminal of the battery. that way, you dont have the battery terminal all cluttered up.

Yeah me too...

I'm just thinking about ground loops... with multiple ground spots, avoiding a ground loop is critical...

I'm wondering if instead of connecting the wires like this:

1 -> ground
2 -> ground
3 -> ground
etc...

It wouldn't be better to do this:

1 -> 2 -> 3 -> ground...

here's a good article about ground loops: http://www.epanorama.net/documents/g...oop/index.html

Great question! Based upon the article that Honda ETR posted... all the current coming into the + terminal needs to exit on the - terminal. So I would think that your first connection scheme, as follows, makes sense.
1 -> ground
2 -> ground
3 -> ground
etc...

From the article the current needs to distributed effeciently via the - terminal out to all possible grounding points. Anyone???

Let's see if I can explain this clearly. I understand that it is more benficial to have a common ground, than to have a separate ground for each electrical component. Reason being is that with a common ground, everything is grounded simultaneously, where as with separate grounds, one component could have a voltage spike or something, and could cause an balance in the grounding/electrical system.

I don't know if that makes sense, but I just know that it is better to have all grounds or most grounds landed in a common spot.

I have 3 "gang" ground areas.

each of them has 1 wire to a chassis ground,
2 wires to/from components, and 1 wire to the bbattery negative....This way the battery is not too cluttered and neither is any specific spot.

I really don't know if the "loop" makes much of a difference for our purposes though. I know that they way I did it definitely worked, and that's good enough for me....don't really care WHY at this point
