My MAF

Do you need an ECU update from the dealer after you install it? Someone said if the car doesn't go past or stumbles at 4k rpms then it is your MAF. I just got an Induction service but that didn't solve it, although the car feels smoother and more eager to rev.

i replaced my standard maf with the updated one w/o the ecu update. i have had no issues yet. my standard never died but i wanted to have a back up since i had just put on a new 9" k&n and was unsure how it would react.

Me too, and did not update the ECU after installing the new MAF.
