Brembo X-drilled only or Slotted only Rotors?

I did some research and need some help.

Should I get Brembo Cross drilled only rotors or Brembo Slotted Rotors. or blanks?

I am getting the GroupDeal from AutoMax_95.

I drive mainly on the highway but street driving aswell.

I'm thinking about getting Raybesto's quiet stop brake pads. ($90 set (4 pads))
what pads are best with these rotors for regular driving. (any recomendations on pads?)

Which rotors last longer?cross drilled or slotted? I don't want my pads and rotors to get warped quickly. Which do you prefer and what are your experiences with these 2 different types of rotors?

Thanks

i MIGHT belooking into the same deal, but from my very LIMITED knowledge of brakes, i've heard it's better to get slotted rotors as opposed to x-drilled. i've heard stories from people who said their x-drilled ones started to crack and they've seen more wear and tear on them than their OEMs. i've also heard that IF you don't have the $ for the slotted or x-drilled, then getting some Blank Brembos is ok too.

what kind of pads? i'm not sure about that.

hope this helps.

for normal driving, you need neither slotted nor x-drilled. These rotors are made for driving where alot of hard braking is done (i.e. autocross courses or daily 50-mile commute through hardcore mountain roads). If you are driving on the highway, "blank" rotors will stay cool enough to stop you all the time. I have had my front rotors overheat only once, and that was driving through twisty mountain roads very aggressively for over 4 hours with 4 passengers and all our ski gear. Even then they cooled down quickly.

The fact is that for normal, everyday driving in "normal" areas and highways, slotted and/or cross-drilled rotors are more for looks/show than for performance. Of course, there's nothing wrong with that. The downside to them is that your pads will wear down faster and in many cases the brakes will be a little noisy (small rumble) if the pads are not seated perfectly. That, and there is an increased chance of cracking since you obviously have less material making up the rotor....

Another option, which I have done, is install the larger (12") 2004 maxima rotors to replace my OEM 10.4" rotors...you do this with the brake kit by blehmco (www.mattblehm.com)....After about 10K miles on them I have no warpage, perfectly smooth braking, and have taken those same mountain road and experienced no overheating or fade....

just my 2cents though......as long as they stop the car, it doesn't really matter what you get. Go with your preference.....

btw - I have not used slotted or xdrilled rotors on my maxima, but HAVE used both of them on my Triumph GT6, which I used to autocross....

$$$$ & 2004 max rotors on 16''?

how much is this blehmco kit? I need 4 rotors. How much would the r4 otors & kit without pads run me for? I am getting 4 brembo oem sized slotted or drilled rotors for $190.

will the 2004 maxima rotors fit on my 2000 GLE 16'' rims? I don't wanna have to do any modding...i just want a direct swap. I have heard people putting this on..but those were 17''rims.

i think they are too pricey for me?

I will go with Brembo's....Blanks, drilled, slotted.....(WHICH DO YOU PREFER FOR A REGULAR DRIVER?)

if you get the blehmco kit, you will need 17"s.

the BlehmCo kit is only for the front at this time.....you really shouldn't need to replace the rear rotors, though....it's the front ones that warp. But 190 is a great price for Brembos....OEM 2004 maxima rotors run about 100 EACH.....(they are bigger and the dealer gouges you...)

sorry, I didnt' realize you had the 16's....they won't work for you in that case.
