Top Speed today close to 150

I think it has a bit more in it I think I can get over 150mph.
It was hot around 95 degrees and quite humid out so I think with cooler weather it might do even better. Who knows.

Please tell me that you weren't taking the picture while you were traveling at 150 MPH.

Very nice. I assume where you live you have very flat very straight roads, so going high speeds is a lot more doable than in the states. Are you using the stock wheels and tires that came on your Max from the factory? If not, what size are your wheels? What is the speed rating for your tire?

Hopefully next time you do that, you dont have to brake hard or anything, otherwise you can say bye-bye to your rotors/pads.

Fastest I've ever pushed her is 130, in warm weather, and I didn't want to go any faster since I had occupants in the car.

By the way, IBTL.

No, he took it after he had slowed to a stop.

Doh...I was about to rip you a new one until I noticed you are in the UAE. It's been a few years since I was there last (Dubai), but how are things going? I also enjoyed traveling cross country out there. We had some Audi A6's as shore patrol the last time I was there (1998), so needless to say, we had a lot of fun!

Haha the car is very stable at high speed nothing shakes or shutters. The roads here are probably the best in the world. IT was on a four lane highway which has a straight away that runs for about 80 miles and flat as a supermodel's chest. LOL.
It is nothing to drive this fast here and I have been passed with ease by you name it.
Tires are stock from dealer. 205 65 15.
I only drove it that fast for a couple of minutes but if I would have driven for longer I am sure I would have got a couple more MPH out of it. Tires are not Z or W rated so I am taking a chance.
By the way I know it is dangerous so people who are going to post here you can keep that out of your reply.
thanks.

Hey I have been here since 98 and the road from Dubai to Abu DHabi was completely finished without speed bumps in about 2000. Since then it has become a racetrack to say the least but they are really tightening things up with tons of speed cameras.
Things have really changed a lot in Dubai since you were here. It is huge and growing at an alarming rate. You would not believe the stuff that goes on here. IT is just a party town. Too much money here.

Get your speed limiter removed and go a little faster.

I always enjoyed pulling in there. Plenty of things to do and see even then. I imagine it is growing quite a bit since I was there last. I can't believe they finally finished the road! Sucks that they are going to monitor it with so many cameras, though. I can definitely see why. It's just like you said, a superspeedway.

At least they won't cut your head off for going that fast. How harsh are traffic laws? My brother has been travelling to dubai for work lately, but the putz continues to fail in taking pictures of anything.

Oh yeah and police don't chase. Only cameras catch you but if you are going over 230 kmh than it doesn't catch you.
I have passed police doing 120 mph. It still freaks me out a bit but I have gotten used to it. I regularly pass cops doing 100 mph and they don't even bat and eyelid. Bad habit though because I go home every summer.
I have only 1 ticket so far this year and I have driven on that road over 15000 miles in the past 3 months. Last year my friend had 18 tickets and that sucked so it can add up quickly.
Oh by the way if they wanted to they could catch you. They drive BMW 5 series or Mercedes E class or Chevy Lumina SS which is an Australian holden with a LS corvette engine (same as the GTO in the states but 4 doors). I have even seen a maxima cop car. Pretty funy. I will try and get a pic of one.

i love driving when i visit back home. zippin thru traffic is fun. of course i can only do about 30 MPH, since it is so busy there..there is actually a long stretch where you can get it as much as your ride can. some sheikh lives at the end of the road. it has become a popular street racing point..

Other than the most perfectly flat and smooth road you'll ever see between two cities...everything. You should have seen all the cars and big items around that area when I was last there. I can't imagine what it's like now...

Seriously though, isnt UAE an inherrently rich nation? (As in there's not even taxation there.) That said, the govt there is not looking to profit from traffic infractions so they probably dont bother with traffic enforcement unlike stateside.

But if you do the old '5 finger discount', you'll have 5 less fingers.

They just don't have the soccer mom union that cricify every government entity whenever their stoned daughter jaywaking gets hit by her drunken classmate.
