decided to go for the blackout look and "smoked" the side lenses (which are also wired to flash with the turn signals, btw).
Anyhow, used testor's Boyd Gray Pearl paint....a couple of coats.
As you can see below:
1-2. in regular light - they look black
3-4. in headlights (or in camera flash here) - they still reflect
5-6. lights on at night - light shines through.
and yes, I know my car is dirty as hell...

Looks great. Actually I think it would look good on any car. I told Bluesbrerkr to do this when I saw it on many VW Jettas. Look through VWvortex.com forums and look at many light colors cars with the smoked corners. Looks great.

Yup...I hooked-up with Blu at a meet a few weeks back and checked his out in-person, they looked great. I'm definately going to do something similar but I think I'm going to do a "complete/heavy black-out" on mine. Something that looks like a solid black insert that blends well with the OEM paint.
