I have the same problem with my progress drop with kyb shocks....my front wheel well makes that noise...if u look in ur wheel well while someone is turning the wheel, u will see that the shock is not turning properly, but it has friction....dont know how to solve that though...i jus know what the problem is.

The popping sound from turning is being caused by a bad strut bearing. You are recommended to replace that part on all new suspension installs. Part should be about $24-35 at your local dealer. If you don't want to replace it, just take it apart and put some bearing greese in there again. Keep in mind that this maybe a temp fix so your better off buying a new one since it doesnt cost that much and taking apart/reassembly of the suspension is a pain. Good luck.

can i adjust it while it's on the car jacked up in the air?
No. The bearing is being compressed so the strut/spring must be disassembled to get access to the bearing.
where does the strut bearing go? i hear a popping noise from the left front as well..
It goes between the mount and bracket. The black part of the bearing should be faced down. This will allow the strut to rotate freely.
