Why not use the latch ckt for the auto trunk release? It HAS to have a constant +12V so the remote and button inside the driver's door will operate it.

the opener/actuator is on different terminal than the trunklid / fuel door switch. so i do not think the power is constant. i could be wrong though.

I know on the 02's and 03's that the subwoofer has a constant power lead going to it.

its not the sub that has the lead...its the amp in the rear deck. There should be a thick red wire there....

rear cig lighter would be easiest to find. the tail lamp, sub, rear trunk release all wold not have a 12V ignition on them.

Actually, come to think of it, it would be easier to route from the front 12v. You have to dissassemble the whole console just to get to the back of it. For the front, you have to just pop of the shifter console. The wiring willk be the same cause i dont think you want to dig up your carpet.

the camera mounts in the trunk keyhole and the power which comes from it is roughly 1 1/2 feet long, and theres a Video plug. why would you run the short power wire from the trunk to the front console??? the video wire yes but the power wire no.

because that is pretty much the only available 12v. Are we on the same page? I thought he asked about a 12v constant. All you have to do is splice a wire and there you go... a longer power wire.

there is a constant 12v source in the latch for the trunk it is for the light switch of the trunk light. just tap into the wire before the switch. i am using that to power the memory of my sat tuner.
