Hey guys, sorry for the stupid question but I'm changing my oil for the first time in the new Max (Ill post pics soon!) and I'm wondering how much oil I need to put in. I'm using Mobil 1 5w-30 synthetic (cars got ~5000 and I'm assuming nothing has been done since the filter was on tight as hell and the drain plug as well)....

so I'm gonna let it pour out for ~ 1hr how much oil should i put in?

I believe its 3 7/8 quart without a filter change and 4 1/4 quart with a filter change. Its in the manual somewhere if you want to check for sure but im 99% sure thats it.

Prodigy, your numbers are exactly right....however theres always some that remains and I was wondering if you guys have a general rule of thumb as to how much to put in....that dipstick is misleading!

I think it's 4 and 3/4 with filter change or is it 4 and 1/4?

I forgot....look in the owners manual on the fluids....

ok, drained it for about an hour and added exactly 4 quarts knowing there would still be some old oil left over....anyways ran it for 10 min, turned it off cleaned the dip stick, put it in for 10 min, took it out, etc and it's like the oil comes up about 5 or 6 cm above the "H"...tried it with both sides....could it be that much over?

Your car looks really nice!! (just like mine) I would suggest that you invest in the 3M clear bra for the hood & frontend.

You should wait a day or two and check the level again. It gives strange readings right after an oil change...

Prodigy was correct with the dimensions. I usually add 5 qt of Mobil 1 oil in my
crankcase. Never had any problems and it runs great.
