PIAA H4 Bulbs (are crap)

I know in an earlier thread some of you have touched on the reliability (or the lack there of) of the PIAA H4 bulbs. I installed a pair of Extreme White H4's and one of them burned out after about 6 months. True, I had it replaced under warranty. But last night, the other one burned out (9 months) Sure, I can call and get it replaced under warranty, but my 1-year warranty period is about to run out, and they only replace the one that's burned out. It is common and good practice to replace both light bulbs at the same time. Besides, now I have to put my factory bulbs back in, send the bad one back, and wait until the replacement. (repeat in about 6 months, $50 - $60 a pair)

PIAA is now officially PIA.

So, has anyone had better luck with other bulbs?

I'm in the same boat as you. I replaced both of my Xtreme White H4s 6 months after I got em. One of my friends has Silverstars that have lasted much longer, but they really just don't look as nice. Plus I don't really want to switch to something else because I have the matching H3s in my fog lights, but I sure as he** don't feel like paying for anymore PIAAs. Maybe you should just splurge for the HIDs

This exactly why there is practically no car OEM equipped with blue coated or higher luminance bulbs.

I have not had problems with PIAA's before on other fitments, until these H4's. The people I bought these from even said that PIAA knows about the lack of reliability on the H4's and have just been quietly replcing bulbs under warranty (I guess until the warranty runs out)

I had one go out after 8 months. Purchased a second set. If another goes out I'll mess with the warranty. The cost has come down on those bulbs but they're still not cheap.
