Thats intresting....how much did they want to give to you for your car? Also if they brought your car , did you have to buy a new Nissan from them?

Its not scam by Nissan in a sense. Its something all dealers do to try to get people to trade in their cars for new ones like said above. I work in a dealership and see it done all day long. You be surprised how many people do come in an actually trade in their cars. We tell them that we have a customer looking for their particular car and that we can give them top dollar since we have someone that is willing to pay it for that car. Sounds good to the person and they come in to work a deal. Out of every 100 people we might get like 15 to bite. Not to bad just for making a phone call to get people in.

Yup, definitely a sales tactic. They will under price you on your trade in, then make a big profit off of it by pushing to it another person. They do want you to buy a new Nissan, but let me tell you from experience, they will not hook you up as much as you think they will or should.
Plus, why would you want to get rid of your sweet 2k2 max for the not so sweet 2k4 or something else?

I agree But I do believe that the dealer trade-in campaign is going on at full blast right now because everytime a new model comes out, it drives down the price of the previous model further than what only depreciation does. So they'll pay you less but you'll be happy going home in the latest model, so what better time for courtesy calls?

not to be rude, but that place has the worst selection right now. I hope for their sake there inventory changes rapidly.

Yep, if you search this comes around each year. The greatest depreciation happens after the first year when they try and get you to buy a new one by saying they are "needed".
