First roadkill with new tranny
#1
and how ironic it was...roadkill on a fellow maxima owner...not sure if hes from the board
it was a 3rd gen on the vanwyck to rockaway turnpike...this freaking guy was up my *** for a few blocks so I punched it from a light and switched into the middle lane...this 3rd gen(with these FUGLY HID wannabe lights...you know...the ones that look like they have every color in the rainbow)...tries to keep up but I keep pulling away until I cant even see him anymore

well the best way to describe it would be that...it has more personality and it hates it when you take your foot off of the pedal...and Im being totally serious
my T/C stall is set at 3200 right now
in terms of responsiveness...mmmm...i feel more g's when i launch but a tranny upgrade can do so much you know?
i swear if any of you have the money you should do this...you can DEFINATELY feel the beefed up strength in the transmission...its like night and day in terms of feeling

haha glad it has your attention
cause its very worth it...to the auto owners out there...im sure all of you realize(even those with the solenoid TSB) that there IS like a .5 second delay inbetween shifts??(hell i even had a little delay with the VB done)
something else i experienced is that this upgrade totally eliminates that .5 second...its just not there anymore

LoveSick...if you think the auto is powerful now you really have to see how the Level10 tranny feels...
Im not nearly as impressed with the acceleration as I am with the feeling I get with the shifts....when it downshifts I can feel it in my seat...and its not a bad feeling...i realize how weak the stock tranny was now that i have something to compare it too
funfact(ala Pat from L10):
Maxima's real acceleration is in the first 60 feet...so if you do a T/C set it fairly high...dont go nuts tho

lovesick...how are you pulling 240 flywheel hp? just wondering
pmp-n8a...when are you going to the track? i want to see your 60' time...i am not really considering the entire tranny upgrade (don't have the funds) but i am highly considering the torque converter upgrade...do you think that is worth it by itself? if i set my stall upto 3200 don't you think my tires would spin a little bit too much at startup or do you think we can get a much better 60'?

if you're planning to boost i would really consider getting the whole tranny done...T/C with a stall+boost isnt smart...because added to the boost Ive heard from various people that the T/C itself adds additional strain to the tranny
think Don was one of the people who mentioned this as well
if you get the whole tranny done you wont be sorry...as much as it costs its worth it
