We all know that the Maxima and I-30 have the same platform and share 75% or more of their parts. But look at the Maxima in Australia-an I-30 with Nissan Maxima badging! Crazy!

Do the foreign Maximas get the same engine as we do in N. America? With the cost of fuel in Europe so high I wouldn't think so. They might even have a 4 cylinder version. Does anyone know?

Yes they do offer a 4 cylinder in Europe, but I am not sure what engine.

In Italy they have the I30 body and it is called the Maxima QX. As far as I know the "Maxima" body we have here in the US is ONLY here in the US. In the rest of the world they have the I30 body and are called either a Maxima or Cefiro.

in japan, they have a 2.5liter 6 cylinder NEO motor...same motor is used in 4 door skyline GTS except that one is turbo charged.
in korea, there is a 4 cylinder engine. choice of either a 1.8 liter or a 2.0 liter. the korean version also recently added a 3.0 V6 to their line-up but it's not a VQ motor...oh, btw, in Korea, the maximas are called SM5s....so, it's SM518, SM520 and SM530..

Most interesting difference is that Euro Max seems to have headlight washers.
