I own a 2001 Max SE with the stock radio. I'm planning to have an audio expert install
a cd changer and a powered sub-wooofer. Need your advice............

Does anyone know of a 6 or 12 disc changer(other than the Clarion built for Nissan) available that will work with the stock (Clarion) radio(I don't want to use an fm modulator)? Also, JoeNissan had said the SE is pre-wired for a cd changer and the wires were hidded near the rear deck, I can't find them, would anyone know if the car is pre-wired?

Does anyone have any input on a powered sub? I'm looking at buying the Infinity Basslink or Bazooka RS10aHP? Any suggestions.

I'm assuming the rear speaker lines will be used to feed the sub(the infinity has line level inputs). Should I change the rear speakers(I don't want to add an additional amp)?

All your comments will be greatly appreciated. I will also post the same thread in the audio section.

Ok... I just put a changer in my car -- its the 6 disc OEM Clarion unit ($312 online from courtesy nissan). crutchfield.com sells a similar unit that works with the stock controls in the head unit for about $299. I forget who makes though...

About the SE being pre-wired... Its not! When you buy the changer from either Nissan or Crutchfield, it comes with the wiring harness whihc runs from the head unit to the trunk and you must install it (running the wire under through center console, under passenger seat, along the passenger doors and then into the trunk and over to the changer). It's kind of annoying to do, so I had the dealer do it for me

I don't know about the rest, I haven't gotten to that point yet. Hope this helps and good luck!

I asked a similar question a week or so ago abouts subs, so here are the links to the threads. Good luck.
