I had new pads (ceramic) put on the front and back of my '00. They had to replace my rear calipers and rotors were fine on front and back. Since then, I've had a squeaking from my front drivers side wheel. The mechanic said that it was the 'shim' that works it's way loose and squeaks. The squeaking stops when I apply the brakes, and the brakes work great. I have had this 'shim' fixed 4 times over the last 2 months. It seems to get worse the more humid the weather is. Any suggestions as to what to do?

 

Get a bottle of CRC Disc Brake Quiet. It's a clear plastic bottle of red goo. Apply it on either side of the shims. It Works!

 

Thanks for the advice...Petrolia ON, eh? I have a cottage at Rondeau and half of my roommates when at Windsor were from Sarnia.

 

I"m assuming they're not OEM Nissan pads. I did aftermarket a while ago but learned my lesson and now i just pay up and keep them quiet.
