Intake Whistle?

Hi everyone,

Here's the story... I installed my intake (Jim Wolf pop charger) a couple months ago. Once installed, there has always been a slight whistle noise when I first would press on the gas. Is this normal?

Since then, I have put on a full custom cat-back exhaust and a Budget y-pipe. Then, this past Saturday I dyno'ed my car. My whp was extremely low, but my tq. was about where it should be. However, on my way home my SES light came on (this is after taking it to the dealer and them fixing the p0420 tsb). I thought it was weird so once I got home I looked under hood. What do ya know! The filter was loose from the MAF and was causing an air leak!! NO WONDER MY DYNO WAS BAD!

However, there is that slight whistle noise everytime I hit the gas (roughly between 1k and 1.5k rpms). Anyone else get this? Also, when I'm at WOT, the whistle comes back around 4.5k+ rpms. Maybe an exhaust leak?

Thanks for your input in advance.

My bests,

Stevo

the whistle is normal...it's always been there, just that with the stock air box on you couldn't hear it.....

Yea, I was quite disappointed with your dyno results too, Stevo. I knew immediately something was wrong....I regret not coming over between runs to inspect around.

I was happy with my runs though 220whp in my 2500 lb car is good fun. Now if only the clutch disc stopped spitting out springs.....
