6 spd. Launching Issues....

Hey guys.

I went out to the track and have some questions.

I had 18" wheels on w/ 35 psi in the tires and I have JIC-FLT a1 suspension.

1st race: Launch at 3k RPM and suspension set on stiff - I bounced all over the place and my car popped out of gear? WTF

2nd race: Launch at 2k RPM and same problem, car pops out of gear.

3rd race: Suspension set of soft, launch 2k RPM and I spin all of 1st...

What am I doing wrong? What should I be dropping my clutch at? Next time I go im putting 16" on.

Best launch IMO, is to hold the RPMs at 1500-1700 and feather the clutch(DON'T drop the clutch) without losing grip. Anything above that RPM especially with a clutch drop will result in spinning wheels.

Lower your tire pressure 35 is way too high. I race cycles and tire pressure is usually in the low 20s.

They're freakin street radials. Reducing pressure on them won't help much at all. You have to launch at about 1500 and feather the clutch.

from my experience lowering tire pressure did jack for me on my all seasons, actually hurt me I believe in two runs- the benefit lies only in slicks or DR's

I have the same problem.

My best time is 14.5sec (ALL STOCK) 6 speed @97-98mph.

My launch, 1100RPMS, bog off the line, and get a 60 foot of 2.5..

This was on my stock 17" on RE92's.

No matter what i did, the best times was at 1100RPMS!!
