Dyno'd today...(a baby one)

Mods:

Unorthodox Racing Under Pulley
Stillen Intake, rear section, header and Y. ( )
Warpspeed B pipe
Metallic Substrate Cat
Technosquare ECU
and Tomei 264 Cams

First pull did 223 hp / 211 tq

did some tuning....

Second pull did 230 hp / 215 tq

Thoughts....

These PIECE OF S.H.I.T. headers are off by Sunday morning and the HS headers are going on. (the ones sitting on my living room floor allowing my dog to scratch its a.s.s. on them.) First off, they bang and rattle like wild boar in a aluminum statue factory. Annoying is not the word for it. Second, they obviously are not producing any power...maybe even sucking power away from me...these evil ********* from hell. So...moving on, the cams are not even that noticible in idle...but you can tell something is different. Seems like I lost some low end but while driving it, the butt dyno screams when the car hits 4000 rpm. It is like coming out of a cannon. Very cool. Using the SAFC II to capture data, I hit the higest rev point at 7100. I dunno if that was what Technosquare promised me, but it seems right. Overall, I am happy with the results. My goal was to get 250 N/A...which will come with a new manifold and the HS headers. I do believe. Now...before I even hear the complaints about not posting a dyno graph or a picture of one or whatever...get over it. Call or your mom I don't care...my car will still make 230 / 215 when you're done whining. Thanks. ( Yes, there is an excuse but I don't even want to bother because I will just get mad all over again...so let's leave it at that. )

The HS heades alone might be able to put you at 250whp with the other mods you have. Yes the TS ECU redline is 7100. OMG NO PICS = LIES!!!!11!!1@568
Would be nice to see the dyno graphs though.

I knew with aftermarket cams you would lose some peak torque and all, but I didn't know it was that much.

I'd like to see the graph so we can compare to a stock dyno...how does the torque curve look?

Believe me, I would like to have a copy of the graph as well...long story. BUT, I did see the graph. It did not look out of the ordinary. TQ started his fall into oblivion @ about 5000 RPM. The two lines crossed @ about 5200. Same with the first run. which I got a better look at. A/F was 12 to 1. No dips or fall offs or nothing. I think i'll just reserve my judgement when I go back for my final dyno's once I get the other headers and the manifold on. I will have those graphs for certain. Should be about 2 weeks hopefully.

Nice work Alex, taking away the debacle those stillen headers have been. That is serious coin for something that does not work.
I think after sunday, good numbers are within your grasp.

I would actually like to have a Secret Sauce IM on your car even before the header upgrade.

And take a froppy disk into the shop when you go back to dyno.

It is an Auto 2k2 and with just an intake and rear section I pulled 201...don't remember torque.

Donkey, you should take Stillens headers and make a coffee table out of them, take a picture of it and send it back to Stillen to show them what the headers are really good for.

Thanks for the info. I'd love to see the difference with just a change over to HS headers just to rub it Stillens face some more. As a matter of fact, I'd chip in $10 if cost was a reason why you woudn't do this. Ever see the Stillen headers for the 350Z? Totally different design.

I'm with bgates. I'd bet the HS headers alone will put you near 250.

Pretty good numbers for an auto. I just wanted to let you know that I have dynoed my car with both the Hotshot headers and the stillen headers and the difference was only about 4HP at peak. However, if you look at the image you will see that the area uynder the curve is much greater...in some places up to 10HP. Not trying to bring you down....but dont be surprised if you dont get what your expecting....cause I didnt.

That seems kinda low...even for an auto? I pulled 204hp and 223tq bone stock, which seemed low for a 6speed...

How did you arrive at this conclusion? Some autos dyno as low as 19x stock and my 6 speed dynoed 200.4 stock with 1600 miles. People tend to forget that dyno readings are like snowflakes. You can't honestly compare peak numbers between different dynos even if they are the exact same make and model. From an analytical standpoint it can be derived that he gained about 30whp from the additional mods.

The "?" in my post denotes that it is not a conclusion, just a question. I'm well aware that dynos differ.

I thought the rough average was something like 195 for autos and 205 for manuals.

your car is over 200hp if there are no major problems. Its just that all machines have inherant mechanical loss. Even a simple one gear bike only transfers 98% of the power you put in it to the wheel.

Yeah, I don't know what to expect at this point. I believe I will get 250 or better with the HS headers and a new manifold. I guess we'll have to see. You never know how things will work. You would think all Maximas take to mods the same...but they apparently don't.

That number is low, but it seems that the more you modify , thses cars, the lower the Tq ratings are getting. I put down 230 tq on my run, but Ive been noticing guys with Headers, and ECU's....getting lower numbers on TQ, even though their HP increases. Considering all the money the Cams cost, and the PITA install, whould you say they are worth it ?

'Worth it' is relative. Everything I do to my car is 'worth it' to me. Any knuckle head can purchase a civic or a mustang and they are an endless supply of parts to mod their cars with. The Maxima is definitely a challenge I am enjoying. As far as my current mods and the 'low' numbers. I think there is definitely something that we are missing when we add all the power parts. There is a correct combination of parts and tuning that will eventually show itself. I am doing my best to find it.

Found the exhaust rattle. The Stillen crap strikes again. Apparently, the Y pipe is shorter than the Warpspeed y and the stock y pipe just enough that it brings the b pipe in contact with the tunnel right about where the rear seats are. No way to fix it except to weld some pipe on after the cat. That ain't happening...not with the HS y going on soon. I'll just wait to make adjustments at that time.

On a different note, I am unsure how the 3.0 even came up in this thread about a 3.5 dyno but let's keep the crap out.
