HID's!!!

I have a chance to buy a set of 2002-3 HID's brand new in the factory sealed box for $700.00!!! Its a guy that lives down in Miami, FL. He says he brought broken headlamps in and his freind that worked at nnissan swithed them under warranty and now they are sealed in factory boxes. I dont know whether to believe this guy or not, whether these work, or if they are stolen. Does this sound to good to be true? Or should I jump on it.

It doesn't sound like the normal way to get warranty parts. I don't know how they could break on their own unless they have a self destruct mechanism built into them. I would say it's probably too good to be true. I guess you're getting the 2 for 1 deal for $700. I would be very wary of this deal.

any other opinions? I'm debating it. I mean these things sell for much more than that used. I could even make money on them if thats what I wanted to do.

I would ask the guy to test them so you can see that they both work. if they are in good condish, then get them. can't beat a good deal.

dude be careful with the HID talk. a lot of ppl here have had them stolen. i would be pi$$ed also if some jerk busted-up my car and steal the hids, and then sells them. if i were you, i would want more info. as in where did he acquire the broken ones?? if he says a junk yard, ask him for receipts..otherwise, they are probably stolen. and i don't think nissan would cover the HIDS under warranty, unless they are on a car and the ballast burns out...
