I want to replace the factory headlights w/ something that more closely resembles HIDs. What bulbs do you recommend?

Repeating what the mingo and yj said... PIAA HID H4 55W. During installation, make sure the bulb is secure (can't jiggle around) or else it'll break.

I can't tell much of a difference with the piaa plasma blue headlights and platinum fogs when looking at the front of the car (standing back about 30 feet looking at the front of the car). It wouldn't translate well with a picture.

I will say looking at the front of the car with only the plasma blues installed looks like crap with the stock fogs.

I think with both changed they somewhat blend together and you lose the bluish hue. I do notice the bluish hue on somebody's bumper when sitting at a traffic light, though.

I have PIAA Super Plasma GT H4's and PIAA Ion Crystal H3's (amber color) for fogs. I like them alot. The ion crystals are sweeet. I was thinking about the extreme whites too for my headlights. What's it look like?

They have the BRIGHTEST bulbs I have seen....make my PIAA's look weak!
Or try http://www.midnightmoose.com they have some top notch bulbs also! Sorry guys I really did not care for PIAA's "whiteness" or cost.

If your looking for bulbs, get them from stealth max/max_se. He is posting in the GD forum: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....readid=113530. Just PM him for prices on the h4's and h3's to see if he has any.

I used 194 wedge bulbs for the doors and a polarg m16 should do the job for the dome.

the bulb replacement number is DE3175
if you check like www.eautoworks.com for the 4th gen max dome light, it will tell you what new brand # replaces the old stock #

or you can go to www.midnightmoose.com for a 10% discount for 5thgenmaximas.com members.

One of my PIAA plasma h4's just went out. I bought PIAA mainly for the dependable reputation, but from a few discussions here it seems like they don't last very long. I'm having my doubts to buy PIAA again. What would you guys recommend for my replacement? Thanks!

There is a local Piaa dealer near me that sells the whole line up for about $45-$55 a pair. They don't advertise individual bulbs on the website (just foglights) but call them. The place is Off Road Warehouse in San Diego. Phone number is 858-565-7792 http://www.offroadwarehouse.com
