I haven't seen them in stores, only by internet/mail order.

There's a thread in the GD forum with some interesting information. The ones I have are the German ones.

Is it a plug and play installation? I might buy some and I want a quick install.

IIRC a lot of guys did a plug and play. I opted for using the relay when I installed them almost 2 years ago. At that time there was talk that fuses would blow if the relay wasn't used.

The Hella's look great!

Why do I need to use a relay with them?

The 350Z horns work well with mine. These are alot louder and better sounding than the facory horns. It's just plug-and-play.

Daisy chain an extra on there while you're at it. in my 93 sentra the stock horn was ****ing me off, so I added on a "highway blaster" horn from autozone (it's not shaped like an arihorn; just a regular one), and both of them together was pretty impressive. If your horn doesn't scare people, it's not loud enoguh.

Wiring diagrams for the relay were included in the directions that came with my horns.

DO NOT get the horns mixx max has, they are the aftermarket Z horns and are prone to burning out. Call Dsve Burnette (1888-254-6060) and ask him for a set of OEM 350Z horns. They are plug and play, they sound great, and they are loud as all hell. Essentially, this is the best option with respect to horn upgrades. PM with any questions.

Huh???? I never heard of this before. As anybody ever had any problems with these? I know these are the JDM ones as compared to the OEM's, but work essentially the same for the fraction of the price. But, I never had any problems with these.

I know 3 ppl who have purchased these horns, and all 3 have lost the high tone horn. The OEM 350Z horns cost like $80 shipped, and that was when the Z was BRAND NEW. IIRC, thats about the same or close to what most have paid for the JDM (its actually considered an aftermarket item, in nissans part book).

I'll bite...what does "JDM" stand for???? What's the difference between that and the "OEM" version. Aren't both from Nissan?

Also, if I use Hellas, why do I need a relay?

Thanks!

I replaced my horns a few weeks ago with the 04 Max horns (I didn't want Hella horns, I just wanted something that didn't sound so wimpy, and the 04 Max fit the bill) and it was super easy. I ordered them from the Nissan dealer, like $17.03 for both the high and lows, and took all of 10 or 15 minutes to install, and that was just cause we didn't know what we were doing/supposed to do. But, they slipped right in (after we took the longish arms off of them) and now I'm not ashamed to use my horn.

Yes, they are both made by Nissan, but the JDM versions are a slightly least expensive version than the OEM. JDM parts are aftermarket parts made in Japan. The OEM versions are slightly louder than the JDM's. But, hearing the JDM's, they are loud enough!

I put in the OEM 350Z horns on advice from E55AMG2. (I got them from Jerry Rome Nissan, just a short ways up I-91, same price as Dave B who wasn't around every time I called). Took 10 minutes to put them in using instructions from E55AMG2, and they sound GREAT.

I added a set of Fiamm air horns, pointed them toward the front left, and now I can really blast people when I need to. Only prob was I needed to add a relay and the compressor (about the size of a can of beer).

I'm loving them.
