If the noise bothers you then you won't like pretty much any engine mod out there for the Max.
I haven't seen a significantly higher number of MAF failures with our intakes than 100% stock.
Our intakes will make more power over stock and pay for itself in better gas milage in the first year of use.
Check out the sale that we are having right now. You can't beat the price for a real K&N intake system.

Intakes are loud and obnoxious. With the CAIs you have to drill a hole in your fender well, and with a short intake you are sucking warmer air into the engine than if you would use the stock intake. The only upside to an intake is slightly improved gas mileage...my .02 cents
I AGREE with this!
Intakes are overrated. One of the reasons why i have kept my stock airbox in my 02 maxima.
With MAF / Tranny problems, do you really want to excelerate these issues by adding a aftermarket intake?
Second, with bad MAF's your $200 intake will end up costing you $100 more every 2 months or so.
Keep it stock, pay 10$ for a OEM nissan stock filter at your local dealer every 10,000 to 15,000 miles and enjoy your quiet.
add subwoofers if you would like to add noise
