will Cattman header/y pipe cause the CEL light on?
will Cattman header/y pipe cause the CEL light on?
Hi All:
Since the Y pipe is without the pre-cat, will the CEL/SES light turned on after the installation? or you have to do something else to "cheat" the system?
Thanks in advance!!

i installed my cattman y-pipe on my 00 se cali spec like a month ago and no cel what so ever....if u going in for inspection just make sure your car is warm up and it pass without any problems..
Yeah. You can do this mod. To keep the CEL from popping up you have to reroute the o2 sensors in the b pipe right after the cat. All those o2 sensors do is check and see if the precats are working. If you move it to after the cat it will think it is. It's not hard to rewire the o2 to after it. Just get some bungs installed in the b-pipe for about 50 bucks.
Is this for both the Y-pipe and header OR just for the header install only?

We had to extend the front 2 O2 sensors about a foot and extend the rear 2 O2 sensors about 7 feet.
You don't want to Mickey Mouse anything like the Stillen headers require... do it right and you won't have any problems.
Like I said, give Tony a call and he'll make sure it's working...

I posted bout these suckas about hmm 6 months ago if not longer... www.02similator.com I have had mine for about 8 months with no CEL and I don't have a single cat. My car flies through the emissions check- they only scan for codes
If your doing the Ypipe only, I have had one for like 2 years and I never had a CEL from it. It only removes the rear precat, and repositions the bank 1 post cat 02 sensor behind the front (bank 2) precat to fool the ECU that the precat is still working
This is only on the 3.0Ls thou.... dunno bout 3.5s.

WSP Y-pipe on 2000 Cali-spec... does it have any O2 bungs in it? (lol, there have probably been a thousand threads about it, but a quick search didn't produce much)
So if I intend to pass an OBD-II-only emissions inspection every year and I have a WSP Y-pipe installed, should I have O2 bungs installed in the B-pipe?
