Croaking sound when I turn steering wheel all the way left. Help. =(

I'm hoping this has nothing to do with the suspension upgrade, but when I make a really tight left turn (when I turn the steering wheel all the way left) and let off the brake just a bit I hear like this...sort of burly-ish croaking noise come from the driver's side of the car behind the wheel. What the hell is it? It doesn't happen all the time, only twice so far. Also, only when I turn slowly.

What's the deal?

i have/had either the same/similar problem. Could you tell me your suspension setup? I assume strut bearing, however I can't be certain

is it like a crunk-crunk-crunk kinda sound that progresses as you turn the wheel? i had a similar noise when i did my H&R's & illumina's. the problem was an improperly installed strut bearing.

i think this was said to be coming from the power steering pump as it is too close to somethin in the steering (i am saying what others have said). Heck i've had it for over 40k so if it were a suspension issue you would figure it would have gotten worse by now..

So yes, it's normal

I had the same problem, I just grease the pin in the center hub in the front. And spread some WWD-40 on the strut mount. That work for me, but 5 month later it came back. So I just did it again. There mite a better way to doing all of this, I just don't know it!!!!!!!!!!!LOL

Argh. I was told it may also be the steering belt. The croaking noise also happens if I turn the wheel while my car is idle.

When you put the strut mount back on the top did u make sure the put was facing out towards the fender...

i made this mistake and the out was off a little and i had a creaking nise and i ended up having to replace the strut bearing....

but just check if the out is facing out

that should fix the problem

also, takes a few days for your struts and shocks to settle in, maybe it will go away?
