What kind of radar detectors do you guys use?
Which one do you think is the best?
I am looking for one but do not know which one to get.

V1 is the traditional best, used to always get #1 in the roundups and tests. However the new Passport 8500 is giving V1 a run for its money lately. I think it beat the V1 in a recent roundup.

Great Post! I've been runnin' without a net for too long. My consistent running at 80 MPH will certainly catch up to me but not nearly as quickly if I get the Bell or Passport.

Cheers and thanks for the url!!!

Bel 980, V1, and Passport 8500 are all good.

I have the V1 and it saved me more times than I could count. Gives me plenty of distance and time to slow down. Most of the CHPs here uses K bands mostly, few Ka, and I only encountered 2 lasar. Most X bands here are used in photoradars at stoplights.

I opted for the Bel product simply because of cost. One thing to note if you are thinking about a Bel - the 950 is the same as the 980 and signif cheaper. A couple of minor differences but the radar detecting hardware is the same. Think I got it for something like 190 on the web.

If they make a lower model without the voice I would get it. The 950 has the voice and I immediately disabled it. It is AGGRAVATING. The only feature that the 980 has that I wish the 950 had is the x-band disable. I'd love to turn that band off. The other aggravating thing about the Bel is that you have to hold down a button to change the volume. I think that is stupid - give me a wheel.

I almost got the V1. The arrows are great. I just cheaped out.
