CM PROJECTORS: Quality or crap?

Hi guys, wanted to know if anyone has bought the projectors headlights that CutomMaxima is selling for the 2000-2001 Maxima. Here is a link http://www.customenterprise.com/view...sd/scspid/1800. I like the look, but am wary about buying them (although I have not had problems with CM, the horror stories are swaying me- and I don't want to spend $300 on crap).

I hadn't seen these before, definitely look like a decent alternative to paying for the factory HID from a 02-03 (I know they're not HID, but I like the black housing).

Same here. Considering how expensive factory HID's are (not to mention the theft occurance in the NE), they are great. Right now I have AE headlights (with the black chrome) but I really like the matte black and the angel eyes (plus I don't feel like ripping apart my lights to install the halo's).

They aren't Custom Maxima projectors. They are made by an entirely different company. I just got a pair last week and getting them installed on Sunday.

They feel well built and sturdy. I haven't heard many complaints from them apart that they cannot be used with xenon lighting. You'd have to retrofit a new projector lense into the housing (which is how I bought my projectors).

So what kind of wiring changes are needed to get all of this working? I've seen the DDM angel eye write-ups but these are marketed asa 2000/2001 lights but they aren't using H4 bulbs, what gives?

Sounds good.. I would like to see pics after the install. And where did you get them? (if you don't mind my asking) BTW, where in Queens are you? I'm in Whitestone (in case you were interested).

No wiring changes are needed. For 2000/01 they are plug and play. The only wiring required is for the angel eyes. They don't use H4 bulbs because H4s are dual filament bulbs that are made for high and low-beam output in one bulb. Because the projectors have low and high seperate, you have to use H3 instead.

Why doesn't someone make HID projectors and then sell them for under $500? Or is that not feasible/possible?

I got them off an Org member who put HIDs back into his 03. As far as location, I'd say it's best that you kept that to yourself for various reasons. There are jealous types who frequent this place.

bought the projector a month ago from Y2KSteve. This projector housing is using H3 for low beam and H1 for high beam.

There are some close-up pics in my cardomain page.

It's very, very feasible. Umnitza is currently in the process of doing so right now.

How do you guys wire the angel eyes? Do you splice them into the parking lights or make switch on the dash for them?

For me i just used connectors and I didnt want to cut the maxima wires so i just connected the the wires for the angel eyes and the lights and pluged it ups and it works. Only problem for me about the projectors is that when your looking at the signal lights from behind it looks cheap, but u really cant tell until your actually holding it and looking inside. And the signal light holders are piece of crap but after a while youll be able to get it. It looks nice though, i like it. But for all people with the projectors im sure everyone would say that when its lit up theres a weird beam pattern but it is brighter than the regular 2000 headlights so its fine by me.

Aren't they hot? Do the highbeams work if they are installed in 2000 models?
