Removing the screen in the stock intake

will it damage anything? I put a K&N drop in filter and I noticed that screen. I'm sure it could be removed and increase airflow, despite it being an "air straightener".

Wont help much if any, might damage MAF, not worth it.

I guess there's your answer... also... I've seen from the org that many 2k's and 2k2's have a weak MAF to begin with, whether you mod or not, so you may wanna rethink messing with it.... just look around for other MAF related threads and you'll see what I'm talking about...

Dont take the screen off. Even though you have a filter bugs can possibly still get past it somehow or another. It keeps major debri out. It will not make any difference if u did take it out performance wise
