SES light on, now off.

My SES light came on when i driving today. my car has been sputtering on startup and when ive been driving. I immediantly took the car to autozone where they diagnosed it as ignition coil misfiring (no surprise) now the light is off, i dont know if they cleared it but i have an appointment with my mechanic at 8 am. is this waste of time and should i not worry about the light? Thanks.

The coils may misfire and cause the light to come on. after a while if they never do it again it will go out. mine has been on and off about 3 times. I still have the same coils going on 98K miles.

I had that problem for 6 months. The light goes on every 200-300 miles. Once the code was cleared, it will only appear after some miles.

I got all new coils from parts.com which are super cheap. Twillin is selling them even cheaper. Fix it before you mess up other things. My mistake was when I had misfires, my engine would shake violently. Now I have to replace both motor mounts.

Any words of advice for someone who wants to replace the coils on their own? I don't know anything about engines, so I am trying to gather all the info and then ask a buddy if he can help fix it. Anybody know of any sites where I could find some general instructions?

Thanks,
Hank

contact DAVEB to order them. they are between $50-$60. not sure about the ease of install.

Let me know what the mechanic says tomorrow. I had the same code pulled today. This weekend I'm going to check my plugs and see if I see anything wrong with them. I'm at 60,000 miles and not sure if the coils should be going out already. Also anyone know if coils are under extended warranty?
