matching icelandic pearl

I am making a fiberglass enclosure for my sub and want to paint it icelandic pearl but i heard that is a 3 stage paint job. I am not going pro or anything lol but i was wondering what color or process can i do to kinda match it. I am not looking for an exact match but anything pretty close. So is there a paint color or a clear coat that i can use on white that may simulate the color? Thanks

I would say that this would be a pretty extensive painting process and would probably produce the best results by having a body shop type of place do the work for you. I've been lucky not to need any paint work done on my car yet, but I've read where others state that matching this paint is a headache.

Sounds like a pretty cool idea though

I was going to paint my lower valence white, but decided not to b/c it wouldn't have matched. I bought Krylon Fusion White, Spray Glitter (for the pearl effect) and a Clear Glaze all from Michael's (craft store). The white didn't match but the spray glitter did make it look a little metallic/pearl. The other day I saw Dupicolor Nissan Super White at AutoZone and was going to try that out but never got around to it. That might match a lot better than what I used, plus if you are putting it in your trunk you might not notice it that much. Hope that helps.

Paint for Maxima
Try this link. They sell paint for maximas. All you would need to know is the paint color code, which is located on the driver's side where the door closes or in the front, look behind the engine and you'll see a plate and there should be color code, and that's it. I hope that helps. Good luck with the project.

I bought recently the Iceland Pearl for my 01 Maxima, the match was perfect, the painter didn't have my car and he was painting the side skirts form an 03 Max that I bought from one Org. member..... the match was perfect and the car looks great. Get the right paint, I will put the brand name and the codes they use for the white and the pearl........

hey scopium, where did you get the pearl spray paint? I've been looking everywhere (physically, not on the web yet) and haven't found crap. Thanks
