brake pad replacement

i'm looking for any write-ups on brake pad replacement. and are there any other brands that i should look for besides nissan oem replacement?

whatever you do........ go with a good quality ceramic. Just make sure they are a high content ceramic and not a cheap version.

Whatever you do, stay away from CERAMIC PADS. They can't hold enough heat and end up warping your rotors prematurely. The only benefit that a creamic pad supposedly has is less squeaking and less dust. They are good at eliminating the squeaking but as far as dust, I have noticed no difference between a ceramic pad and a semi or carbon metallic. Besides, if you do a good job on your brakes, they should not squeak at all.

Ceramic pads can't stop your car as fast as a semi or carbon metallic. Ceramic pads do not hold temps as well as a semi or carbon metallic.

Since the ceramic pads don't hold heat as well, the heat has to go somewhere and the rotors are the most likely candidate to take on this burden causing them to overheat and warp.

If you would like more info on this, give the guys at Diversified Cryogenics a call or call someone at Performance Friction, they'll set you straight.
