Clear Sides question

I am sure this question has been asked a million times and I'll apologize in advance!

Thinking about clearing the sides and was wondering what are the legal ramafications? Also what kind of replacement lights would I need to get?

Thanks!

technically clear side markers are illegal. the law states the front must reflect amber and the rear must reflect red.
if you do get them i suggest getting colored bulbs (orange for front and red for back). at night they will still look legal.

ive been told that the rear does need to be either red or amber, but the front can be white...since it is the front of the car. i was told this when i was being pulled over for the rears, haha. this was in NJ, so i dont know what it is for other states.

well the DOT law states that the rear side must reflect red and the front side must reflect amber and that is for ALL STATES

well there ya go, either the cop didnt know, or didnt really care. he might have been talking about lighting, and not reflecting tho.

i guess it depends on what kinda ball bustin cops you have in your area. i have never been stopped in my township for any of my many visual violations, but as soon as i sold my accord, the kid who bought it got hassled in less than a week for a front license plate in his town...

GA tags driving in VA...must be military.
you dont need silver colored bulbs. the side markers have that tecture that makes them reflect so you cant see the bulbs.
i do have silver covered blinker bulbs though cause the cover is clear and you can see through.
see you cant see orange on either.

i havent had any problems with my clear corners. ive only had them since May though. two other 5 gen maximas on campus got them over the summer too. mine glow amber and red at night so i guess its technically legal after the sun goes down. if you are close enough you can tell they are clear. my cytogenetics teacher works as a cop part time and he told me he has never pulled over anybody in Charlotte for that type of violation....

I have the Clear Corners on my '00 with i think polarg (if thats spelled right) super white bulbs and i have been pulled over twice for it so far. yes it is true that the front must be orange and rears must be red, but in NJ for some reason, as mentioned by member KCMC582, that only the rears need to be red and the fronts are the only ones that you can have white or clear. It does matter on the city/town your from and how mad of a ****head the cop may be. It is though a secondary offense and therefor you can not be pulled over for only that, you must commit another offense for them to harass/ticket you. I live in North NJ right in the middle of more than a few towns whos cops are complete A$$holes. They are the type of cops who pull over people just cause they have nothing better to do.
I got one ticket for $155 ($125 was the actual ticket and $30 was court fees) and another was $50 i think but i didnt have to show up to court for that one, i still dont know why!

So I take it 4 of these http://www.cardomain.com/item/PILXC1157A should get the job done right?

Oh yeah - I see the 2 links - one is a single and one is a pair both at the same price? Any differences?

http://www.cardomain.com/item/PILXC194A [Pair]

Also any good website where I can pickup the clear sides themselves?

the only problem is those are amber. you need red for the back. i just picked some up at an auto parts store. when they were on they looked a little pink so i used red spray paint on them. now it shines red and you cant see the bulb when it is off.

Sweet - so I gotta find a pair of red ones for the back. I am trying to find one website that I can get the clear sides and hopefully the bulbs. Also looking at switching out the blubs for my fogs - any thoughts on that?

I didn't see anything in the group section. I found that this site sells full set (all 4) for $59. http://www.customenterprise.com or should I get them from http://www.courtesyparts.com (cost $10 more).
