If your looking for a new TCM, consider an I30 TCM. Why? Because that TCM is programmed to shift at redline in every gear as well as downshift into the lowest gear possible when the hammer is down.

Cost? You can call your Nissan or Infiniti Dealer.

According to DaveB and Icy2kSE, it should match right up without modifications.

it would be cool if it did play with the revs on the auto. im going to have my stock tcm replaced on thursday after having them fix my valve body dur to slipping 2-3. now it does it in 1st when you give it 3/4 throttle. hopefully they dont give me any crap. service manager said no prob so it should be fine. if the i30 tcm works and its not mad money i might pick it up though.

TCM=Transmission control module. It works in conjuntion with the ECU (Engine control unit) to perform transmission functions. To my knowledge, no one has tried an I30 TCM on a Maxima and I dont' see why.

Myfirstsix...There will be different part#'s for the 00-01 TCM's. One is an updated version for I30's built after 5/00 to decrease the slow 1-2shifts. I can't remember which part# is the newer one though. Its a plug-n-play item and shouldn't throw off any codes.

Does anyone know of the best way to get a 2000 maxima to shift at 7200 rpms. I have i/h/e with no cat/udp and i removed the restrictor plate behind the tb and it pulls the hardest up top but then it shifts. It seems like it would pull hard well past redline.

Technosquare will have an ECU available shortly for 00 Maxima's. That will allow you to manually upshift to 7,200rpms. I think Technosquare should also reprogram the stupid OEM TCM imho.
