Is this gonna hurt?.....

I have a rattle coming from what sounds to be the intake manifold, which I could be wrong. That's just where this annoying and scarry bug in my ear is pinpointed. First question is, has anyone experienced this?

I was told by my dad that something is loose or has broken off inside the engine (I kinda figured that......dad).

Second question is, if I take this into the stealership, will my Injen hurt me in terms of voiding any kind of basic warranty? I see no reason why my intake would have caused this, but again I could be wrong.

My SES light came on today, and the rattle has increase durations a little. It's intermediate when it occurs....sometimes at idle, sometimes when I'm barely engaging the accelerator, and sometimes whenever the he77 it wants to!

Please help me before I take it in like it is and shoot myself in the foot.

Thanks,
P

Stop driving it....take the intake off (put the stock one back on).

Take it to the dealer....

There was a thread before about an Xtera, I think, that had that problem. Turned out to be screws that rusted off the flaps/butterflies (i guess) and were in the manifold......TAKE IT TO THE DEALER...just take off your "performance parts (anything they can blame this on)"

Pull the plastic "accordian" piece off the intake/throttle-body and look at the throttle-body flap and check if any of the screws are missing.

This has happened to a few Maximas and at least one Pathfinder with the VQ35DE, I know about.
