Check the first picture here: http://www.fourthrock.com/maxima/oscaiinstall/

I got my stuff from Home Depot. You can use any hose/coupler/etc that you choose. I believe it is punkdork who has good, detailed instructions. It is an easy install.

I'm not sure about the HP increase. If you want to realize the gains, I would highly recommend throwing a K&N filter in ($60).

Good luck.

The opening on the bottom of the scoop instake is 3". You can purchase any diameter, but it has to taper down to 3", either by hose diameter, getting a fancy coupler, tape, or whatever.

The coupler you see in my pic is a 3" to 3". Home Depot has a variety, such as 4" to 3", 2" to 3", 3" to 3", etc.

Here is what the bottom of the scoop looks like, where you'll hook up the hose you bought: http://www.fourthrock.com/maxima/osc...l/DSC00031.JPG

I let my hose dangle almost straight down to where the plastic stuff is (you'll see what I'm talking about if you look straight down over the scoop). Others have wedged theirs through the plastic or what not. You could direct it towards the front of the car in some form or fashion.

I found it to be tight quarters, so it was hard to direct the hose anywhere but straight down.

It possibly could, but highly unlikely. That is alot of hose to have to travel through, plus the filter at the end, in order for water to be injested. It should not be a problem. I would not ride through a ditch or 2 foot of water, though.

The only way it could inject water is if the end of the hose is submerged.

I would not have installed it had I thought it would suck up water.

Plus with the scoop to still suck in air.. that's the path of least resistance.. shouldn't really have enough power to get water too. You could always get an AEM bypass valve and work it into your setup if your're really concerned.

Do you gain any deep throated sounding growls from the exhaust when you accelerate by installing the OSCAI?

I don't really know of any intakes that increase exhaust sound.. they increase intake sound... anyway the OSCAI is the quietest intake other than stock. PR CAI is the loudest and the cones are right in the middle.
