Sudden Acceleration??

Has anyone had any problems with gas pedal sticking to the floor? I has happened a few times. Typically in 2nd gear accelerating hard my pedal in my '00 Maxima sticks to the floor. I have to take it out of gear, and it will rev to the redline to the limiter a few times before the pedal will release. I recently had a tune up and also had my O2 sensor replaced which did not help. Looking for advice.

I am pretty sure it is not your O2 sensor.

how does the pedal get stuck? you meant you couldnt pull it back at all and it just locks in there? or you can pull it back but the thorttle is still open and rpm is still rising?

did you check if something's in the way of the throttle? you can try to manually open the throttle plate and see if it works smoothly.

did you check if there's something blocking your gas pedal? (i.e. floor mat...)

Be careful , make sure the rubber sleeve around the cable hasn't broke and is jamming in the throttle assembly where the cable connects to that swivel elbow piece. That happen to me one time in my 87 Z turbo, scared the **** out of me!
