Replaced In-Cabin Microfilter

I decided to change my Micro Filter today, guess what....got the slot but no

filter in it. the slot is full of leaves and other crap so I had to use vaccume

extension to suck everything out.

Just wanna remind all 2000~2001 Max owner, if your air condition start to

stink, one possibility would be your micro-filter slot is full of crap.

where can I find a filter for cheap? I don't want to have to pay 48.95 at the dealer!

For '00 and '01 Maximas, the in-cabin microfilter was not a standard item. It was an option or came as part of a optional package. That is most likely why you didn't find one in the slot.

For '02 and '03s, however, it came standard with every Maxima.

Peace.

Oops, you shouldn't unplug those air bag plug. The only thing you need to do is to squeeze the 2 clip. In Greg's site, he unplugged the air bag plug, that's wrong. Follow Housecor's instruction!!

haha, a lot of good that does me now... So do I just have to reset the ECU then to get rid of it or what?

CHANGING THE FILTER REALLY GETS RID OF THE STINK!
Running the A/C on economy to 'dry' the insides DOES NOT WORK AT ALL!

I added a filter to my 2000 SE and after a year or so it stunk, bad. Traded the car in and never knew if there was a solution. My 2002 came with the filter, and after a year or so also began to stink bad. Was really starting to doubt the construction of the 5th gen A/C since it was 2 stinky cars now. On both cars, tried running with the AC off before parking but it made no difference.

But when I changed the 2002's filter (and vacuumed the insides of the box) the stink WENT AWAY COMPLETELY !!!!!

Unplug the "-" on the battery before you got sleep, plug it back when you go to work, it's gonna reset the ECU.

I just changed mine this weekend. I went 15 k on the last one and actually it was pretty clean. Whoever at Nissan decided to attach Airbag connector/plug to the glovebox is an idiot. Why????? Why can't they just attached to something behind the glovebox.
