Homelink programming?

I have 2 new garage door openers that don't program the normal way because of encryption. How do you program the new style garage door openers to the homelink? Detailed instructions for dummies would apply to me here

I had to open up the garage motor and hit the training button. That should be outlined on the backside of that homelink sheet that you get with your car but in case you don't have that anymore, here it is:
After you fail programming with the remotes hit the training button on the garage opener motor.
You'll have 30 seconds to get to your car after you hit that button so either have the car close or have a friend sit in the car.
After you hit the button you have to click on the homelink button you want to program 3 times, FIRMLY.
If the garage opens or closes on the 3rd try you've succeeded.

The problem I'm having now is when I clear it nothing works. When I program a different door opener, the new one and the original one open, so both garage doors open with 1 push. I can't seem to fix this. I programmed 1 opener on a different button and it works fine, but why on earth does it remember it's previous code even after clearing?

It may take several tries. Mine took about 7-8 tries before I got it to work.
